Fast Track Flood Risk Assessment Report

For clients facing a deadline which could put their planning application at risk.

Unfortunately, we find that clients are increasingly being put in a disadvantageous situation by the planners leaving it far too late to ask for a flood risk assessment. This can put their planning application in jeopardy because they have to hit the validation stage in the planning process. If they do not this can completely throw out their time schedule and cost money as well as frustration to the client.

Two flood risk assessments in one without any extra cost
We now operate a specialist service to overcome this problem. We actually do two flood risk assessments in one without any extra cost. We do what we call a holding flood risk assessment so that the planning application is validated and then follow up with a revised flood risk assessment within the time allowed in the planning process to complete the assessment.

Everything can flow along as planned
This is because sometimes we have to apply to the Environment Agency for flood information including a flood level for the site. This can take up to 20 days and means that the validation target cannot be hit by a full flood risk assessment. Our approach takes that out of the scenario and means everything can flow along as planned.

We have the flood information to hand
Sometimes, of course, we have the flood information to hand anyway because of the number of flood risk assessments we do and also because of the information we hold in our flood mapping database.

We’ve done 4500+ assessments. 99% success rate.
